Dear All,
first many thanks to accept myself in this forum.
I'm Fausto from Italy (Treviglio city, Milan area), 49yrs, manager in a Japanese Corporate, with a Quota 1000 - 1999.
I'm an old Guzzi-man, started with Guzzino 65 in the 1979, after: Galletto 190, V35 II, V7 700 1969, SPII and now Quota 1000. I've tested this Quota last summer, when I've put on sale my old V7.
First reason for the necessity to have a bike with good brake and strong engine for travel with my wife Gianna and to use every day to go to job (March to November). secondo to have a right bike for me, I'm 2,00mt tall, and it's very difficult to find a bike, Quota 1000 it's a perfect one!
I hope to meet the other Quota people of this forum!
Ciao,
Fausto javascript:emoticon(' ') |

Hello Fausto,
welcome here!
I guess that you may be interested in putting the footrests a little bit lower.
I chose about 35mm, which still allows to lean correctly into curves.
You can do this by making two simple plates with 4 holes. You screw the original footrests in the lower holes, and you screw this assembly in place where the original footrests were by using the upper two holes. On my bike this generated the need to put a threaded bar between the two plates because the rubber silentblocs were not stiff enough to hold the footrests horizontal, specially when standing up. This threaded bar can be put in one of the lower holes, holding the footrests and not requiring to drill other holes.
I have replaced the tranquilization chamber of the exhaust by a simple Y-shaped tube, If you do not have this, it may get more complicated...
see you in Sweden on the Quotatreffen 2015? (I am still not sure to go...)

Hello Fausto,
below you find a photo of my second version of the footpeg lowering. Clic on it to get in in full size.
The first version, which I previously described, required only cutting, drilling, painting and screwing.
To make this one you also need to grind and weld.
Ci@o,
Roland

maybe I should start my own production.
For 80€ you could get my construction which lowers the footpegs even more than the Q-Tech product...

NEVER regret a choice you made!
At the moment you made it, it was the best.
It is always better to do something than to think about something that could be done.
